Biography

I am a chemist who has always been curious about the world around me. I received my BS in chemistry from MIT, and then came out west where I received my PhD in organic chemistry from Stanford. I had the opportunity to be a teaching assistant for 5 courses during my PhD, and these were some of the most rewarding and valuable experiences I had during my degree. When a student finally gets it, and understands that concept that had been tripping them up for months, brings a sense of accomplishment like no other.

My goal is to help students understand and appreciate the fundamentals behind math and science, to help them better understand our world. Every student has a different way of seeing the world and understanding information, and I will work to help each student find  their own way through these subjects. Learning requires hard work, but there are always ways to make the process easier and more efficient, and I appreciate that the 1-on-1 nature of AJ tutoring allows us to find the best path to learning together.
