Biography

My tutoring journey began back in high school, when I started working with elementary school students after class. I loved the feeling of helping someone finally “get it”—whether it was a
tricky math problem or learning how to organize a paragraph. That sense of connection and progress stuck with me, and over the years, my tutoring experience expanded to include community college students as well. No matter the age or subject, I’ve always believed that learning is most meaningful when it’s rooted in confidence and curiosity.

I earned my degree in English from UC Berkeley, where I developed a deep appreciation for the power of language—how words shape ideas, and how strong writing can open doors both
academically and personally. At AJ Tutoring, I enjoy working with students on standardized test prep (especially the reading and writing sections), essay writing, and academic English
coursework. My goal is always to meet students where they are and to help them grow into independent, thoughtful learners who trust their own abilities.

When I’m not tutoring, you’ll most likely find me outside—either at the barn with my two horses, Flip and Boots, or out on the trail hiking with friends. That balance of quiet focus and active adventure keeps me grounded, and I bring that same steady, supportive energy to every session.

Happy Parents and Students

"They made each section a lot easier to approach because I know how to do each type of problem. The essay template was also super helpful. "
