Biography

To me, tutoring and educating are ways I can share my lifelong love of learning with others. As a kid, I taught my grandparents and elderly neighbors in technology — my first tutoring job! From there, I have inexplicably found myself in teaching positions, whether as a ski instructor or tutoring peers.

I was born and raised in Palo Alto, but I left at the age of 14 to attend boarding school. I completed high school at Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, CT. My experience at Porter’s gave me confidence in the classroom and the skills I needed to be successful in my academic pursuits. After high school, I took a gap year driven by my desire not to begin college online due to the pandemic. That year was a great time to recharge before college and make time for my lifelong passions of exploring the outdoors and skiing. I yet again found myself in a teaching role as a ski instructor at Sugar Bowl Resort! These experiences taught me the importance of building confidence and a supportive environment for every learner.

I graduated from Boston University in May 2025 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science and a minor in Environmental Analysis and Policy. My degree program was highly hands-on and emphasized collaborative problem-solving to facilitate learning and growth. These are methods I look forward to bringing to K-8 and Biology students at AJ. I am excited to work with K-8 students to develop the skills fundamental to their future education. Biology and Environmental Science are subjects that I have such a passion for — something I look forward to sharing with high school students. I tailor my sessions to each student’s learning style, whether they benefit most from visual examples, discussion, or guided practice. My goal is to help students gain confidence and see that learning is a process, not just a test.

Outside of AJ, I enjoy hiking, skiing, and hanging out with my dog, Luna.
