Biography

I grew up in the Bay Area, where I was able to participate in various extracurricular activities helped shape my interests and aspirations. One of the most impactful activities I participated in was working as a summer research assistant at a local university. The professors and graduate students in my neuroscience lab were generous with their time and patient mentors, encouraging me to pursue biology further in college.

I graduated from Columbia, where I studied biomedical engineering and computer science. As an undergraduate, I was able to TA for an electrical engineering class and found the experience of helping students build confidence in difficult concepts to be extremely rewarding.

At AJ Tutoring, I hope to help students achieve their goals by building effective study habits, gaining confidence in their skills, and fostering an interest in the material being studied. I have greatly benefited from kind teachers who took their time explaining concepts and encouraged me to challenge myself, and I look to do the same for my students. I look forward to creating a welcoming environment where students feel free to ask questions and grow from feedback.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, pottery, and watching movies.
