I attended St. Edward’s University in the beautiful and bustling city of Austin, Texas. There, I majored in History (graduating Summa Cum Laude) while also pursuing other passions like English and Literature. In college, I frequently aided my peers with their essays and test preparation. These experiences taught me the value of helping others overcome their academic challenges, and I found that working 1-on-1 was highly effective at providing a customized learning experience. By maintaining a close, personal dialogue, I can come to understand another’s questions and confusions, help address these problems, and watch my student’s skills and knowledge continue to grow alongside my own. This path of individualized development is the heart of 1-on-1 tutoring.
I am driven to tutor because I believe it is the best means by which one can learn. 1-on-1 tutoring provides the perfect amount of attention that students often need to succeed. Tutors have an unparalleled opportunity to listen to the troubles that plague each student and can work flexibly to addresses these issues. When it comes to education, sometimes all you need is one person – one educator – to inspire a passion for learning in a student. Because they work so closely with students, tutors might serve as these inspirations. I strive to be this kind of educator for each of my students.
When I’m not tutoring, I’m usually watching baseball, enjoying a history documentary, or engrossing myself in a great video game.
