I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, where I enjoyed exploring the city and visiting the Brooklyn Public Library. When I was 11, I moved to Peoria, Illinois. In high school I played tennis, baseball, and ukulele. To continue the westward trend, I attended Stanford University for college, majoring in English Literature and graduating in three years. My favorite writers to study were the Romantics because I loved imagining a group of friends in their early 20’s all becoming legendary poets who are remembered hundreds of years later.
Throughout my academic career I completed countless papers, tests, assignments and readings. In doing so, I honed my skills as a student to the point of mastery. I now posses the hidden secrets of learning and it is my life’s mission and joy to pass them on to the next generation of students.
In tutoring students at both the high school and college level, I have seen that every student is different. Our individual methods of ingesting information and concepts are many and varied. Not understanding what these are is frustrating, but figuring them out is enlightening and empowering. I believe that if a student is willing to work hard, he or she can unlock the power and genius within and succeed in any class.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading and writing, following the stock markets, and watching tennis tournaments.
