Biography

I became interested in education and tutoring because I enjoy seeing students improve and succeed. Growing up, I attended many tutoring programs myself and realized just how important they were to my academic growth. Those experiences shaped the way I approach learning and inspired me to provide that same kind of support to others.

I was born and raised in San Francisco and recently graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in problem solving and persistence, skills I now bring to my work with students. Math and science were areas where I once struggled and eventually grew the most, and I find it especially rewarding to help others make that same journey.

During the pandemic, I worked with CCDC’s online algebra course, where I introduced algebra concepts to younger students. That experience taught me how challenging it can be to teach a group when every student learns differently and reinforced my belief that individual attention and flexible teaching approaches are crucial. In my sessions, I like to use analogies, visual aids, diagrams, and hands-on examples to make abstract concepts concrete. But before introducing those tools, I focus on breaking problems into manageable steps so students can build confidence from the ground up.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy playing table tennis, exploring new restaurants, watching movies, and spending time with friends. These interests keep me balanced and give me the creativity I bring into each session.
