The AP exams begin in a few weeks and our AJ tutors are helping students prepare for a variety of AP subjects. Is your teen ready to tackle their exams? Here are some helpful tips to get ready.
Preparation is Key
Now is the time to create study guides and study groups with their fellow classmates. Prioritize quiz review and teacher feedback to get the full picture for preparation. Connect with an AJ tutor for some targeted 1:1 review sessions leading up to the exam—many students still have time to fit in 3–4 sessions depending on their schedule. These sessions can be especially effective when focused on high-yield topics, timed practice, and strategies tailored to each specific exam. Encourage your student to revisit past mistakes, not just correct them, but understand the “why” behind them. That’s where real growth happens.
Test Day Success
Adequate rest, hydration, and a good meal are as important for a student’s success on test day. Make sure your teen doesn’t stay up all night cramming—remind them to trust their instincts and the preparation they have already put in. On test day, make sure they eat real food that will fuel them for success. Let them wear their comfiest clothes, within reason, and remind them to wear layers. A smooth start to the day sets the tone for a confident performance.
