Biography

Originally from Rome, Italy, I moved around Europe during my studies, before moving to the other side of the world (California). I earned my bachelor’s in Rome and then completed my master’s and Ph.D. in Lyon. During my experience in academia, I worked on CO2 Capture, organic and green chemistry, fostering my already great passion for science.

Other than Chemistry, I also teach and tutor French; I am fluent in the language due to my years living and studying in Lyon and I have grown to know and love the French culture, in all its aspects (I mean, who doesn’t love French pastries!). I believe teaching a foreign language is opening the door to a whole new world, as language and culture walk hand in hand, and I am always happy to see my students open up to new ways of life while they learn a new language.

I strongly believe that when one knows something well, one should be able to explain it in a clear and simple way, and that is what I vow to do with my students, so that everyone has the opportunity to understand science and the world around us.

When I am not tutoring I am also a scientific illustrator, a way to combine my passion for art with my love of science, which also helps me in the science teaching process. In my free time, I love to sing, play guitar, and swim with my family.
