I am originally from the City of Angels, so I was born and raised in a vibrant, artistic culture. After graduating from high school as salutatorian, I embarked on my journey to UC Berkeley where I double majored in applied mathematics and dance. UC Berkeley showed me how education can be the gateway to endless possibilities and inspired me to pursue a career in education.
While working on my bachelor’s degree, I also tutored ELL students at Berkeley High School, which is where I first discovered my passion for teaching. I had the opportunity to witness how one-on-one tutoring could provide academic support to students who were struggling to keep up with their studies in a group setting and open opportunities for them moving forward. After I earned my degree from UC Berkeley, I went on to earn my teaching credential and master’s in education from Stanford University.
Over five years as a mathematics teacher, I taught over 600 students. I witnessed how one-to-one support can make the biggest difference for our students to achieve their personalized learning goals, and so I decided to return to tutoring in a 1-on-1 format. My passion for helping students has brought me to support students not only in their math classes but also in their preparations for the SAT and ACT. I enjoy helping my students understand the structure and patterns of these tests and hone their test taking approaches for all sections of the test. My goal is to continue to help students achieve success and reach their goals.
When I’m not teaching and tutoring, you can find me hiking, dancing, and trying different cuisines. My favorite dance genres are salsa and bachata!
