Annie Pappenhagen

Team Leader, K-8 and HSEE Director, Test Prep and Academic Tutor

While growing up in Delaware, I attended a math and science magnet high school and began tutoring English Language Arts to middle school students. I received my BA in Psychology and Sociology/Anthropology with a minor in Poverty, Equity and Social Justice, from Ohio Wesleyan University. While in college, I worked as an academic skills counselor and provided specialized tutoring in time management, test anxiety and study skills. I later went on to complete a dual Masters in Social Work (MSW) and Educational Leadership and Policy (MA) from the University of Michigan. While in Ann Arbor, I also worked as a substitute teacher and completed a clinical counseling internship, where my passion for learning evolved into a passion for teaching.

My interests lie in creating educational equity and fostering intellectual curiosity for all my students. With my own life-long love of learning, counseling background, and commitment to social justice, I work to meet the learning needs of each individual student and help them become intrinsically motivated to meet their goals.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, canoeing and knitting. I am also an avid board game player, and especially love playing bridge!
