I have been intrigued and fascinated by math since I was a small child. I first began tutoring in middle school, where I quickly learned that I like to help people conquer their fears and difficulties with numbers. I attended high school in Southern California and college in Northern California, graduating from UC Davis with a degree in mathematics. During my time at Davis, I served as a tour guide for prospective students, using my energetic personality and zest for learning to help highlight Davis as a fantastic choice. I also served as statistician for the UCD football team. Go Ags!
Throughout my years of tutoring experience, I have realized that there are many ways to teach math. I like to show the proof of mathematical concepts rather than having students memorize equations. The notions of absolute truths and proofs and finding alternative ways to get to an answer are just a few reasons that math has always been a passion of mine. When students start to understand math and how it works, they gain much more interest and build their confidence in the process. I like to see the improvement and the joy in a student when everything starts to make sense!
