I developed a strong love for both research and for teaching through my time in higher education. I hold an undergraduate degree in electronics and electrical engineering and two master’s degrees: one in electrical engineering and one in physics.
My early teaching experiences were instructing engineering students after completing my undergraduate degree, and while completing the coursework for my second master’s degree at San Francisco State University, I had the opportunity to work for three years as a graduate teaching associate in both math and science classes. After graduating, I continued to pursue my interest in research while also sharing my knowledge with students and developing their skills and passion for the subjects I love.
To me, subjects like electrical engineering, physics, and mathematics are all intertwined. I love how each subject informs the next and how physics applies mathematics, and engineering applies physics, to real-world applications. While I know that both mathematics and physics can be challenging, and therefore discouraging, for many students, it is my goal as a tutor to make the material interesting, whether we’re working on Algebra, Calculus, or Physics problems together. I work with my students to find connections to their own lives and interests, and I help them develop their confidence so that they can meet their goals.
Besides teaching and research, I like to cook, and I am an avid book reader.
