Watching students succeed and become more confident in their academic abilities is why I love tutoring. Growing up, I always had success in math classes, and as a result I began tutoring friends, family, and peers while in middle school. I continued tutoring during my time in college and discovered that I have a true passion for helping others learn. As an educator, I am very patient and strongly believe that every student can succeed if they are taught in a way that works for them.
I was born and raised in the Bay Area, graduating from Mission San Jose High School and obtaining a degree in computer science from UC Riverside. While at UCR, I took advanced math courses including calculus, multivariable calculus, statistics, differential equations, and linear algebra, and during both my own studies and my experiences tutoring, I found that people learn best in entirely different ways. Whether my student learns best from real-world applications, example problems, visual models, or another method, I tailor my approach to suit their needs.
I work with my students to understand their goals and what they are struggling with to provide them with the best experience possible. It is my goal to not only teach the subject, but also increase my students’ interests in the subject.
When I am not tutoring I enjoy reading, playing basketball, watching football, and coding.
