We are a few weeks into the school year, and students should be settling into their routines. Now is the time to start looking ahead and preparing for the remainder of the fall semester. Here is a look ahead:
September
- Prepare for the October PSAT or SAT if you are a junior or senior.
- Connect with a 1:1 tutor or counselor to prepare for private school applications
- Connect with a college counselor
- If you are a senior, start working on those college applications and admission essays
October
- Take the PSAT!
- Take the October SAT or ACT!
- Start working with a tutor to prepare for the HSPT
- Don’t forget about studying for the STAR assessment, and writing samples for some private school applications
- If you haven’t already, start preparing for the December SAT
- Make sure you are checking in on test scores! You should have gotten one to two test scores back already, if they are lower than expected it is better to start with an academic tutor now! Don’t wait until finals if those first scores are low.
November
- Keep preparing for private school applications
- Start putting a plan together for first semester finals
- Register for Spring 2026 SAT/ACT test dates if you haven’t already
- Early Action College Applications are due!
- Don’t forget about the November SAT!
December
- The private school applications window is closing quickly!
- Take the December SAT or ACT
- Early Action Notifications are coming any day!
- Make a plan to get ahead with tricky classes over the winter break
- Put together a solid plan with your college counselor for the Spring
- Connect with a tutor for Spring testing and Spring academics now!
