So You Want To Take the SAT…Or Do You?

Spring is the season of test taking and there can be many conflicting reports that you have to muddle through as a parent and student when it comes to determining the best test for you! Many students don’t know the difference between the SAT and ACT, if they should take both, or if they should take neither! Thankfully AJ Tutoring has been navigating the ups and downs of the test prep world for over 12 years and is able to help!

The content covered on the SAT and ACT is almost identical. The SAT is more logic and reasoning-based, whereas the ACT is more content-based. The SAT is more math-based and the ACT is more reading comprehension-based. The ACT also has an additional science portion to it that the SAT does not. If your student struggles to read quickly and comprehend quickly the ACT may not be the best choice for them.

Here at AJ, we can support students with personalized SAT and ACT prep, as well as a hybrid test prep plan. This allows students to prepare for and take both tests and then based on their initial scores determine which test they want to take again. After some brush-up preparation with their AJ tutor to achieve a higher score of course. This can feel like a pretty big decision so call us today to discuss your options when it comes to test prep and a director can help guide you towards the best test possible.
