I was born in Philadelphia and raised just outside the city in southern New Jersey. After attending high school at Bishop Eustace Preparatory, I went on to the Honors College of Rutgers University in Camden, NJ. I received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science with a minor in History. From there, I went on to the London School of Economics in the United Kingdom for a Master’s of Science degree in International Relations with a concentration on European Union politics.
After returning from London, I was lucky enough to find my way out here to the Bay Area to work on various projects for Google. While in the tech world, I have maintained my true passion for education by tutoring co-workers and friends in English reading and writing, communication, politics, and even guitar.
It was a love of learning instilled in me from a very early age that propelled me through my academic and professional career. If it were not for my passionate and enthusiastic teachers in high school, I never would have made it into the rigorous Honors College of Rutgers. If it were not for my enthralling and challenging professors in New Jersey, I would have never been prepared to join the London School of Economics. And if it were not for the incredibly high caliber, enthusiastic and brilliant thinkers of the LSE, I would have never been inspired to travel the world, take on new challenges, and end up in this wonderful place doing things I love. I credit my education and the wonderful men and women who molded me, challenged me, and inspired me to become the person I am today. It’s this love for academia that I strive to instill in my students at AJ, and if I can help foster even the beginnings of that passion and inspiration in students, there would be no greater fulfillment personally or professionally.
My academic interests are English, communication, writing, history, politics, and international relations. I find great joy in supporting students as they learn the crucial academic skills that they will carry with them throughout their scholastic journeys. I strive to instill a calming and efficient approach to schoolwork and testing in my students, and my style is warm and encouraging.
In my spare time, I love to play various musical instruments and have even started hand-building guitars and ukuleles. Thanks to California, I am now an avid hiker and if I’m not in the office, you’ll probably find me wandering the redwoods of Mt. Tamalpais or whale watching in Half Moon Bay. Be warned, however, that I’m still a fan of Philadelphia sports teams, so don’t get me started on the Giants or 49ers!
