Course Description:

This one-on-one private tutoring course is tailored to each student’s French proficiency and designed to provide an opportunity for students to feel as comfortable speaking French as they do reading or writing it. While all students will work on listening comprehension, the focus will range from basic conversational exchanges and language conventions to sharing opinions, discussing future plans, and recounting past anecdotes, depending upon the student’s level. By the end of the course, students will work up to telling a short personal story and answering conversational questions.

As a framework for storytelling and describing actions, students will first review well-known fables in French to focus on retelling existing stories in their own words. Students will also learn new vocabulary, the mechanics of asking relevant questions, and most importantly, thinking on their feet when asked to give an opinion or make a statement.
