The Bridge to College

Are you ready for the jump from high school to college? This course will go over organizational strategies, tips and tricks for living on campus, and an overview of resources available at college. This is the study guide to college life!

Locations: Online, Burlingame, Danville, Lafayette, Los Altos,  Los Gatos, Menlo Park, Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Carlos, San Jose, San Mateo, Saratoga, Woodside.

Cost: $120/hr

Recommended hours: 3-6

Goals:

  • Organizational strategies: Setting up binders/folders–both physical and electronic (learn how to better use google docs, email filters, and google calendar).
  • Campus life: Good grades, social life, enough sleep–how can you get all 3? Learn to find your niche and set healthy boundaries.
  • Available resources: How to utilize teacher office hours, gym/health resources (personal coach, dietitian, physical and mental health), tutoring centers, writing centers, computer labs, and other resources

Course Description:

In this course we talk about the transition from high school life to college life and the potential challenges related to this transition. Our three main topics (organizational strategies, campus life, and available resources) will serve as a primer for any student anxious to put their best foot forward as they head to college this fall.
