Course Description:

Women make up about 50% of the human population, yet in most high school history classes they only make up a tiny percent of the information covered. In this class, we will cover several of the overlooked women who are part of American history. We will also discuss why women are so frequently left out of the historical narrative.

Various skills we will work on within this context include analyzing primary source documents, effectively arguing historical points, finding information about frequently overlooked minority voices (beyond just women), and thinking critically about history. Well-behaved women rarely make history, as they say, so this class will cover several totally awesome rebellious women who definitely did not behave.
