“What do I do now?” An Intro to Law for Teens

A class to guide youth through the legal hurdles of the adult world. Learn the answers to legal questions you have as you get ready to live independently in the real world.

  • Discover the intricacies of criminal law, constitutional law, contracts, consumer law, housing law, and torts.

Course Description:

This class is designed to teach teenagers how the legal world works around them. What should a teenager know if they need to rent their first apartment? Get in their first car accident? Sign a contract? Have dilemmas at their first job?

This class introduces the legal system as applied to teenagers who will soon be young adults navigating the world. All topics covered will focus on what is relevant to teenagers in the many different types of law that will affect their lives as they get ready to enter the adult world.

Topics include an introduction to laws (how to read/interpret), Criminal Law, Torts, Contracts, Constitutional Rights, Consumer Law, Housing Law, Family Law, as well as topics that come up during class discussion.
