Born in South Korea, I came to the Bay Area for middle school. Having a strong and consistent work ethic and time management skills allowed me to overcome the challenges of learning a new language, and I attended UC San Diego as an anthropology and communication major in order to pursue my passion for human stories.
I volunteered for a non-profit during college helping children and teenagers overcome challenges to fully achieve their aspirations and goals. The experience led me to pick up tutoring, supporting students in a variety of subjects. As a tutor, I approach each session with an individualized approach to address my student’s needs, habits, and interests. I believe in the importance of building strong foundations and solid understanding of concepts. As a result, I go beyond teaching students content to mentor them in areas such as stress management, motivation, and organization.
I find immense joy in forming meaningful connections with my students and witnessing them develop genuine interest and curiosity in the material we study!
During my spare time, I enjoy reading nonfiction books, watching documentaries and movies, taking photos and editing videos, and cooking different dishes.
