Ric Terry

After graduating from UC Berkeley with an undergraduate degree in biochemistry, I began pursuing my Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology at UC Santa Barbara. During this time, I had the most wonderful experience teaching and mentoring college and high school students. I found a passion for guiding students through overcoming obstacles and learning new ideas and concepts.

I have found that there is nothing quite as rewarding as providing the space and support for students to learn, incorporate, and understand the material we’re working on. I find it is tremendously important to focus both on grades and understanding the material, while continuing to develop the underlying skills that feed into both. By focusing on and tailoring the session to where a student is in each of these areas, I can help them move forward in all of them. At AJ Tutoring, I enjoy both helping students to build their foundational understanding in math or honing their test taking strategies to master the SAT because these are skills that they can carry onward to achieve their future goals as well. 

When I’m not working with students, I enjoy spending time at the beach and finding new and interesting cuisines and restaurants throughout the Bay Area.
