Born in the vibrant city of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, I cultivated my passion for mathematics at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. There I not only earned my M.S. in mathematics, but also delved into research, co-authoring a paper on the weighted discrete hardy inequality and engaging with projects in twin totatives and bijective reflection of polygons. Teaching at Cal Poly Pomona, I navigated through a myriad of math courses, from trigonometry to business calculus.
My teaching odyssey began in the third grade tutoring my older brother and expanded to assisting high school friends across disciplines. Now, with over 12 years of official tutoring experience, my repertoire includes K-12 academics to college-level support, the SAT/ACT/ISEE, AMC, Olympiad contests, and AP Calculus preparation. As a child, I faced struggles of my own with mathematical. These challenges taught me that mathematics is not just about learning, it’s about discovery and joy. I bring this perspective to my tutoring sessions, tailoring lessons meet my students’ understanding and goals and ensuring that the fun in problem-solving is never lost.
I believe education should be a dynamic, engaging, and enjoyable journey for everyone, and I am dedicated to providing that enriching experience to my students. Everyone deserves the opportunity to access the best education possible, and I’m here to make that a reality.
When I step away from the world of academia, you’ll find me engaged in a lively match of badminton, pondering over a chessboard, or losing myself in the logic of sudoku.
