With colder temperatures comes school vacation and a time for students (and parents!) to unwind a little bit. David Griswold has a personal favorite that is a wonderful way to get students introduced to the beautiful world of poetry…Shel Silverstein!
Kaitlyn Norman thinks that building an amazing cardboard or blanket fort is a prerequisite for some winter time reading. She personally loves Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine, and Peter Pan by JM Barrie!
Rachel Dwinal loves to curl up with hot cocoa and old movies during this time of year, or maybe check out Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro and The Sympathizer by Viet Than Nguyen.
Katie Simoneau recommends checking out The Witch Boy, an incredible graphic novel for teens who are reluctantly into reading. “Any reading is reading,” they said and added fun recommendations such as the William Shakespeare’s Star Wars series!
Brandon Uenaka has a long list of personal favorites but right at the top are Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan and The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis!
Tomas Alvarez recommended The Librarian and the Robbers by Margaret Mahy or Witches by Roald Dahl.
